There is a spiritual law that too few of us realize and that is, our confessions rule us.

When we use the word confession, people think only of confessing their sin. The Bible does say if we "confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9), but the Bible has much more to say about confession, (the confession of our faith).

What we say is our confession and those words that we say rule us. Jesus said they did. "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says", (Mark 11:23).

If you really believe a thing in your heart, positive or negative, and say it with your mouth, you will really have it. It is always with the heart man believes, and with the mouth confession is made unto any of the provisions of God's Word, (Romans 10:10)

"See that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession", (Hebrews 4:14). The confession that we are to hold fast to is a confession of faith in the promises that God has given in His Word.

Remember, "faith calls those things that be not as if they are", (Romans 4:17).

When we confess God's Word, we are simply placing ourselves in agreement with it, and the power with-in God's Word can begin to work on our behalf.

This weeks confession:

I am a believer and not a doubter. I hold fast to my confession of faith. I decide to walk by faith and practice faith. My faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Jesus is the author and developer of my faith.

Heb 4:14   Heb 11:6   Rom 10:17   Heb 12:2
